A: Ssebo mwami Ssemakula. (Oh, Mr. Ssemakula [as the cook].)
B: Mukama wange. (Yes, my boss [my lord].)
A: Olwa leero tunaalya bannyanja, oba nnyama? (Today, shall we eat fish or meat?)
B: Oba tulye ku nnyama, anti jjo twalya byannyanja. (Or should we eat meat, as yesterday we ate fish.)
A: Ooo! Ndowooza ka ŋŋende ngule ennyama. (Yeh! I think I should go buy meat.)
B: Aaa, nedda, kozzi ŋŋambye nnyama? (Ah, no. Did I say ‘meat’?)
A: Anti ogambye nti jjo twalya byannyanja. (As you said that we ate fish yesterday...)
B: Ooo! Kale tulye ennyama. Tulye nnyama ki nno, leero? (Oh! Ok, let’s eat meat. We’ll eat what kind of meat, today?)
A: Ey'ente. (Beef.)
B: Ennyama y'ente? (Beef?)
A: Mmm.
B: Ey'embuzi ssi ye yandisinze? ([Wouldn’t] goat’s [meat] be better?)
A: Kale, ka ŋŋende nguleyo kilo nga ssatu awo. (Alright, let me go buy about some three kilos.)
B: Kale nnyabo. (Alright, madame.)
